Some stories begin with a plan. Ours began with service, compassion, and an unexpected connection.
Our Journey began through service. As a Veteran, Ron carried a lifetime of experiences, memories, and stories shaped by courage, resilence, and life's many challenges. I entered his life as his caregiver, there to support him in the everyday moments.

But in those everyday moments, something remarkable happened.
​
Through long conversations, laughter, and shared time together, he began telling stories from his life. Some were serious, some were funny, and some carried the weight of lived experience. Listening to those stories created a bond between us, one built on trust, understanding, and friendship. We all have our own stories.
​
Along the way. we discovered something else we had in common: creativity. Ideas came naturally when we talked, and our imaginations seemed to spark off one another. What started as simple conversations soon turned into brainstorming stories, characters, and adventures.

Out of those moments, Nyx was born.
​
Nyx, the Time Traveler, represents the creativity, imagination, and collaboration that grew from our friendship. Our stories transformed into a magical adventure we wanted to bring to life for others.
​
This book is more than a story about a time traveling cat. It is a reminder that inspiriation can come from the most unexpected places, that friendships can form in the most unlikely ways, and that when people share their stories and ideas, something truly special can be created.

Meet
Karen Calonge
Karen Calonge is a writer, poet, and creative storyteller dedicated to crafting meaningful content that connects people. Originally from Los Angeles and now residing in Las Vegas, Karen’s life is defined by a deep passion for caring for others—be it children, animals, or the elderly.
As a wife to a Marine Veteran and a mother of three, Karen draws immense inspiration from her family. Her oldest son, who is Autistic, serves as a constant light in her life; his unique imagination and ability to see the world through a different lens fuel her own creative spirit. When she isn’t writing or exploring new ideas, Karen works as a caregiver for veterans and spends time with her two dogs, a Siberian Husky and a Pomeranian Mix. Through her words and her work, she is on a mission to put more positivity into the world.
Meet
Ron Edwards
Ron Edwards brings a lifetime of precision, adventure, and innovation to his writing. Originally from New Jersey, Ron served in the United States Army, an experience that helped shape his discipline, resilience, and unique perspective on the world.
Following his military service, Ron built a diverse career as both a commercial helicopter and fixed-wing pilot. A natural innovator, he also made his mark on industrial history in the 1970s as the inventor of the polyurethane railroad wheel—an achievement that showcased his ability to solve complex mechanical challenges.
Today, Ron has traded the cockpit and laboratory for the written word. Working alongside Karen, he helps bring the imaginative world of Nyx, the Time Traveler Cat to life. Inspired in part by his own beloved cat, Ron’s storytelling blends technical insight with creativity and adventure.
His unique perspective—shaped by military service, aviation, invention, and a lifelong curiosity about how things work—makes him a vital voice in this debut collaboration.
